Hundreds of indigent students across the various wards in Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have benefited from the free General Certificate Examination (GCE) form initiative of the Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. Oluwafemi Odunayo Daniel.
The free GCE form distribution is part of the commitment of Hon. Oluwafemi Odunayo Daniel to support and strengthen education among residents across all levels in Itire-Ikate LCDA. The initiative reflects the Council’s resolve to ensure that residents, irrespective of tribe, religion, or financial status, have equal access to opportunities and educational support that can contribute to their academic advancement.
The GCE set to begin in November 2026 had recipients from across the seven wards in Itire-Ikate LCDA, including Ramoni Ward, Karounwi Ogunsanmi Ward, Baruwa Ward, Agunbiade Ward, Airways Ward, Sanusi Ward, and Odo-Olowu Ward. The beneficiaries include students whose families are not financially buoyant enough to register for the GCE examinations, high school dropouts who still wish to further their education, and students seeking to retake the examination to clear outstanding subjects.
Representing the Executive Chairman, the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Afeez Kelvin encouraged the students to not take the exam lightly but to seize the opportunity to represent Itire-Ikate excellently during and after the exams. He made it known that the free forms were just a tip of the iceberg among many other opportunities on the way.
While addressing the recipients, the head of Education department, Mr Omojole Olabode sensitized the students on the importance of the examination and were encouraged to prepare diligently to achieve success.
The initiative underscores the ongoing commitment of Hon. Oluwafemi Odunayo Daniel to promoting educational development and supporting the academic aspirations of young people across Itire-Ikate LCDA towards a brighter future.
